Cuiabá, main city of Mato Grosso, is its capital and the Geodesic Center of South America.

Known as the \"Gate to Amazon\", Cuiabá is also one of the main doors to the Pantanal, because it exactly from cuiabana lowland, geographyc depression of the river Paraguay\'s basin, is were the Pantanal starts to being formed, irrigated mainly by the Paraguay, São Lourenço, Cuiabá, Manso and Vermelho rivers.

From its history we extract the wealth of the gold, that the members of the Bandeiras in the exploration of the scrubland arrived here to explore the mineral wich at that time was abundant.

Cuiabá was then named as Arraial do Bom Jesus de Cuiabá until it took the place of Vila Bela de Santíssima Trindade as the Capital of the State of Mato Grosso. It was a crucial moment of our history, because the State started to receive larger attention of the Brazilian Government. Cuiabá grew, and amazingly grows as the most accelerated demographic expansion of all capitals of Brazilian\'s States.

Nowadays it is recognized as important industrial center of the Center-West region of Brazil. Cuiabá is the main route for leading the agricultural production and pecuária of Mato Grosso ahead to the great centers of Brazil. This growth attracted great investors that concentrate estates, commercial and agro-industrial business here, making the city more and more prosperous and promising.
